A humble apology

For anyone who actually takes the time to read my overly verbose blog posts and looks forward to the next one, I am sorry. Not because you read the blog as insightful as it maybe, but sorry for the length of time between blog posts.

There are a few reasons for this (Que excuses) namely my impending separation from the she devil (I josh) but myself and my partner are going our separate ways after 10 years. Whilst I don’t really agree to a certain degree with airing dirty laundry. I feel it is necessary in this case, I have had a lot on of late what with the aforementioned.

Trying to get my head back into the blog and coping with the current situation has proved difficult. Starting with so much gusto on WPin, and then being dragged down to border line depression in a short time is no fun at all. However and a rather hopeful however, I am back in the game once more.

Dusting myself off and cracking on with things is all I can do. Concentrating on this site, and populating it with blog posts that are (hopefully of interest) to you my dear and loyal readership. Yes you two, I am talking to you two.

I have reverted back to the old theme on WPin, I tried to run before I could walk in fairness. Crashing into and putting every ounce of me into the blog is great, but concentrating on the aesthetics? Less so.

I need decent content, articles people will read and share. Bring new readers in and generate more interest to WPin.me. Then and only then can I look to focus on looks and more.

This is a rather heartfelt post, but one I think needs to be shared. I am not dead (clearly), nor have I lost interest in WPin, I have taken some timeout to get my head back into things. 10 years with someone is a long time and adjustments have to be made, both mentally and physically.

So on that rather somber note, I can promise you more regular posting, more reviews, more news, more everything. I am here to stay, and I am back y’all, I am back.

Cue fireworks and music. Word to your mother.

For those of you who are interested my name's Ben I am the owner of WPin.me, some say an all round good egg. You can catch me blogging here on WPin.me or catch me on Twitter tweeting things about WordPress here.

Glad to have you back :)

Sorry about everything that’s going on; that’s got to be rough.

    • http://wpin.me Ben Wpin

      Thanks Pippin,

It ain’t easy its been an incredibly tough last few months (and I mean really tough) but I just need to keep busy and this blog is a way of channeling my energies into something worthwhile.

I do however appreciate your kind words and I have to say it’s great to be back, truly it is.

No need for apology mate, take your time to get yourself sorted out – the internets can wait.

    • http://wpin.me Ben Wpin

Cheers Oli, it’s going to take time, but slowly getting back into it all, thanks for the comment dude. Just taking it steady now, traffic is going up and starting to get indexed well by Google so fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear that Ben. Break ups are hard though I can only imagine how hard it is after being with someone or 10 years (which is longer than most marriages nowadays).

With regards to wpin, to be honest I prefer this design to your last one anyways :) Don’t worry if design isn’t one of your strengths. I’m capable of modifying themes a little when needed but I don’t have an eye for design and find it difficult visualise what I want. It’s not something that should hold you back from being a success online.

Your posts have been great recently. Useful lists and reviews of good resources etc. Your passion for your blog comes through in your writing. You have also shown a lot of enthusiasm to make this site a success and that’s why I think it will be.

Most successful websites aren’t run by the most intelligent or the most creative, they are usually run by the most hard working. If you keep working hard with the blog then it will become a success, I’m sure of it.

I also need to echo Oli’s comment and suggest taking your time. You can come back in a few days, a few weeks or a few months and get the blog going again. I’m sure your readers will be understanding and you when you come back you will have more energy to get things going :)

      Thanks Kevin,

It has been hard of late I must admit. However I am working hard behind the scenes my notepad is choc full of ideas for posts which I believe will be of interest to WordPress users and those who are looking for other types of news.

I thank you for your kind words and understanding, and it is nice to know that I have well wishers in this sometimes unforgiving landscape we call blogging.

Getting my nut down and cracking on with it is all I can do. If I can achieve half of the success you and oli have made I will be a very happy bunny indeed.

Just going to take my time and write quality posts I think others will find beneficial, and of course increase the readership of WPin.me

Going to write about things that are of interest, things of controversy and things that help others. Setting myself a goal for this time next year!

Going to invest time and effort on the blog and hopefully reap the rewards both from a community/readership front through to financial aspects (hopefully)

Money is not the be all and end all behind wpin.me but as you know when a blog grows there are implications and costs associated from maintaining a popular blog.

Again I thank you for leaving a comment and your understanding and positive words regarding both me and the blog.

P.s I too was not overly enamoured by the design changes of the blog either. Back to basics!

Hi Amor, thanks for stopping by, yes it is difficult! But I as you have mentioned cannot wait to post more useful info!

It would seem we have the usual round of suspects lined up, you Oli, Kevin & Pippin, thanks to you guys I have a renewed vigor when it comes to the site, traffic is growing and trying to offer something different rather than the usual round up post!

Plus my own unusual sense of humor, whilst not to everyone’s tastes I like it.
